LEED® Credits

Venture Tape Products eligible towards LEED® Credits

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED® ) is a certification program through the U.S. Green Building Council. More information can be found at www.usgbc.org.

LEED® Certification is for building projects, not products, but Venture Tape products used as project material can contribute toward the points needed for you project certification. Tape and adhesive products generally fall into two categories of LEED® credits – Contribution Credits or Compliance Credits. Venture Tape has a number of products that can help you comply with LEED® Certification credits for your project.

Contribution Credit is determined by looking at the total project materials, based on material cost, that contribute to the Materials and Resources Category criteria for recycled content and regional manufacturing. Product recycled content and location of manufacture is the information needed for Contribution Credit. Recycled content is almost always zero for tape products in general, and should be considered such for the products listed below. All Venture Tape products are manufactured at 30 Commerce Road, Rockland, MA 02370 and as such if your site is within 500 miles of this location, the products listed below can contribute towards the regional manufacturing credit.

Venture Tape products are more valuable in obtaining Compliance Credit for LEED® projects since tapes are typically a small percent of the total material cost for a project. To be eligible towards the LEED® Compliance Credit, all materials used on the building structure must meet the VOC levels. Based on the VOC requirement, most tapes qualify towards the 1 credit.

Building Products listed below meet the criteria to contribute to the Environmental Quality (“EQ”) Credit 4.1: Low-Emitting Materials: Adhesives & Sealants under the United States Green Building Council’s Rating System for New Construction & Major Renovations (LEED-NC), Version 2.2, Core and Shell (LEED_CS), Version 2.0, and Commercial Interiors (LEED_CI), Version 2.0.
